Operation Great Start is a home visitation program that provides free one-on-one health education to pregnant and parenting families monthly for three years or until the youngest child turns nine years of age. The program helps with any concerns of parenting and provides information on community resources. Operation Great Start provides the following services during enrollment:•Twenty-four education modules presented from pregnancy to child’s ninth birthday.
•Education mailing program families with children one through the age of eight.
•Breastfeeding support.
•Parenting education
•Supplies for babies and children
•Information on community and state resources including necessary referrals.

Education modules include but are not limited to:
•Prenatal Care
•Health Planners
•Adult Education and Employment
•Feeding and Infant Development
•Nutrition
•Family Relations
•Positive Parenting
•Income and Budgeting
•Emotions
•Stress and Anger Management
•Child Safety

Enrollment Qualifications:
•Families may enroll if they are expecting a child or have children under age nine.
•Families residing in northeast Nebraska.
•No income guidelines
•No legal status requirements
•No parental age limits
•Services are not limited to a family’s first pregnancy or child
•Services are free of charg
